Housing Options

One of the most important decisions older adults make is their choice of housing. There are a vast array of available options ranging from living independently in your own home without receiving any in-home support services to living in a nursing home and receiving total care.

U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
The HUD website offers housing financial assistance resources and guides for making the right choice.

Assisted Living Federation of America
This organization is the national association dedicated to professionally-operated assisted living communities for seniors. Its website provides many resources for seniors and their families who are interested in learning more about assisted living or finding a residence.

LeadingAge website contains information about housing and long term care services and facilities.

This section of the AARP website features information on reverse mortgages.
